Just take the plunger out and use it as a 750 ml pot for cooking or boiling water. The plunger can easily be removed from the lid so the lid can be used as the pots lid to boil and cook quicker.
If you are living on dehydrated foods which need precise measurements of water then good news. The inside of the pot is marked in 1 cup increments at 250 ml, 500 ml and 750 ml levels. This makes measuring the correct amount of water required for those tasty meals a breeze.
The pot of the espresso maker has fold out insulated handles so you can handle the pot safely without burning your fingers. When not in use the handles fold away for compact storage inside your pack.
The lid doubles up as a pot lid and a plunger lid. The center red piece screws into the top of the plunger. When using the espresso maker as a pot the plunger simply screws out from the red center piece.
There are two outlets in the lid one is for steam to escape when cooking or boiling water. The other outlet is for pouring liquid such as coffee or boiled water through.
