Strap on crampons ice climbing use for the hardcore climber. These are Vuno’s top of the range model which provide you with maximum grip when hiking or climbing up icy surfaces. They fit a large range of shoes and hiking boots.

Adjusting the length of these crampons is quick and easy. There is no tool required like some of the other models available in the market. Simply lift up the lever as shown below and pull out or push in for the desired length. The lever locks in securely holding the size for future use.

This function makes these crampons perfect for use when multiple people will be using the same pair.

The length of the spikes are up to 4 cm long, this length will provide you with maximum grip on the iciest of surfaces. These spikes are made from tough manganese steel so will not bend or buckle under normal use.

At  the front of these heavy duty crampons are two 4.5 cm long spikes with 3 mini saw spikes. These fang like spikes are used to did into the ice when climbing up step inclines. The saw like teeth provide further grip to stop you from sliding out. These spikes are so pointed they come with two plastic storage protectors to prevent them from doing damage when the crampons are not in use.

How to Fasten the Strap Buckles

Before using your crampons for the first time we suggest you practice fastening the buckle a few times. It can be tricky if you are not used to using this type of buckle system. The last thing you wnt to be doing is trying to figure out how to use the buckle with cold hands.

These images should help if you get stuck. Just copy what you see in the top and bottom image. The top image has the strap moving from right to left through both circles while the image bellow has it moving back to the right through just on circle.

If your pair of crampons do not come pre strapped then tie them following the instructions below. Once tied we suggest leaving them ties up to make life easier in the future.

Please take care when packing your crampons away ensuring both spike sides are facing each other. This will stop the spike piercing through your storage bag.

Also ensure the straps are away from the sharp spikes to prevent them weakening in structure or been cut while the crampons move around like a saw inside their storage bag.
