Sleeping Bag Accessories Buyers Guide
The right sleeping bag accessories can improve comfort, help keep your sleeping bag cleaner or provide useful backup equipment when tramping. The range on this page includes liners, inflatable pillows, ear plugs and lightweight emergency bivvy shelters.
Sleeping Bag Liners
A sleeping bag liner creates a washable layer between you and your sleeping bag. This can reduce how frequently the sleeping bag itself needs cleaning while also providing a more comfortable surface to sleep against.
Our liners range from lightweight polyester models starting at around 205g through to 550g fleece versions. Choose a lightweight polyester liner when pack weight is important, or a fleece liner when additional softness and warmth are higher priorities.
Inflatable Camping Pillows
The Vuno Giganto inflatable pillows weigh approximately 110g, making them a compact way to add head support without carrying a conventional pillow. They can be inflated when setting up camp and deflated again for packing.
An inflatable pillow is particularly useful if you normally use spare clothing or a jacket under your head but would prefer more consistent support.
Ear Plugs for Huts and Camping
Shared tramping huts can be noisy, especially when other occupants are talking, moving around or snoring. The ear plugs in this category include reusable silicone models that can be carried between trips.
Ear plugs reduce surrounding noise rather than blocking every sound, so consider whether you still need to hear alarms, other people or important sounds around your campsite.
Emergency Bivvy Shelters
The lightweight emergency bivvy shelters in this category weigh around 125g and take up relatively little pack space. They are designed as compact emergency equipment rather than a replacement for a normal sleeping bag, tent or dedicated overnight bivvy.
They can be worth carrying as backup protection in case an unexpected situation leaves you exposed to the weather or unable to reach your planned overnight shelter.
Which Accessories Should I Carry?
- For keeping your sleeping bag cleaner: choose a sleeping bag liner.
- For greater sleeping comfort: add a 110g inflatable pillow.
- For noisy huts or campsites: consider reusable ear plugs.
- For lightweight emergency backup: carry one of the compact emergency bivvy shelters.
- For colder conditions: consider a fleece liner where its additional weight is acceptable.
For multi-day tramping, a lightweight liner and inflatable pillow provide useful everyday comfort, while an emergency bivvy shelter serves a different role as backup equipment. Select accessories according to the conditions expected on your trip and how much additional weight you are prepared to carry.
